4/12/11 thoughts from Connor

Today we saw the baby leopards. There were three and they were tamed, thankfully. We also saw a white tiger sleeping. After that we went to buy beads for the ladies who make the beadwork. And we made good color choices on the beads.

? of the Day: if there are hundreds of orphans on the streets they why does the orphanage only hold 18?

We just landed in Atlanta. We have to wait two hours for our next flight to Johannesburg….

Now we are boarding a Boeing 777-ECD straight to Johannesburg…we are taking off right now…

We have landed in Johannesburg and it is AWESOME!!!!…

It is almost time to go to bed and I think that my thought of the day is “you cannot explain South Africa with pictures and words you can only explain it by going there yourself.”

Connor is in the 6th grade at Adena Elementary School where he is passionate about three things: legos, baseball and helping others.

In Connor’s words: “My mom has been going to South Africa since I was five and I have wanted to go since her second trip. I want to see what the world is like outside of the United States. I know how lucky I am to have food, a house and be healthy and that we are not affected by AIDS. I want to help.”
