…I joined a gym…on New Year’s Eve.
Yeah, I know, it sounds a lot like a New Year’s resolution, but I just hate the idea of making resolutions when, let’s be real, they have a tendency to fail. What I prefer is to consider this to be a change that I happen to be making because– here’s the thing– I know that I need to be healthier and exercise more and that’s not going to change at the end of the year. So, I am making a choice to start a program that I intend to keep for life, whether you call it a New Year’s resolution or not.
As you might guess, I’ve done this before. I’ve joined a gym and ended up quitting when I got bored (which doesn’t take me too long). But this time is different. Hear me out. This time I have an accountability partner, someone who keeps track of me, checks in to see how I’m doing and offers both advice and encouragement. I truly believe that this will make all the difference.
Today, when I got home from a workout that I did not want to do, I found an email from my accountability partner just “checking in” to see how the workouts were going this week. I tell you, it gave me a little boost of encouragement to continue working hard.
Now, honestly, it would have been much easier to simply join a gym and not tell anyone about it. Then, succeed or fail, I am doing it by myself. But here’s the problem with that: I think you need other people (and accountability) to grow, so by keeping this to myself, I am limiting my ability to grow in this area.
I think the same principle applies to Beaded Hope. My goal for Beaded Hope is to have excellent customer service, and it would be easy to just say this to myself and have no accountability to anyone. But, come on, that just not the way to grow a business.
So, I am asking you to be my accountability partner. That’s a big way of saying that I want you to keep track of Beaded Hope. Check in with me every once in a while. Let me know when our customer service could be improved and give me encouragement when we get it right.
Just like exercise is critical to my own personal health, customer service is critical to the health of Beaded Hope as a company. Without great customer service, Beaded Hope will not be a healthy, successful company. So, I am committing to you, that it is my goal to make you happy with every interaction with Beaded Hope.
Drop me a note sometime, check in and let me know how we’re doing.
Thanks, partner.

p.s. I am also interested in what you’re listening to on your mp3 player while you workout so feel free to drop me a note about that, too!
